Introduction
With Access Groups it is possible to give access to a set of tokens or users to a charge station. There are 3 different types of Access Groups. Dependent on the type of access group, it is possible to set a custom tariff for a certain user.
Keep in mind that administrative rights may be required to make changes effectively. For example, only authorized administrators can modify organizational E-Flux accounts.
- RFID tokens: in this type of access group you can add any RFID token based on either the UID or the Visual ID. This can also be an OV Chip card for example. It’s not possible to set a tariff for this Access Group entry. Therefore charge sessions will always be EUR 0.

- Based on users: you can add users of your account or a different account to the Access Group. It is possible to set a custom tariff for these users.
Use cases
- I want to use my charge card for authorization and close it for other users: By adding a RFID token to the access group an user can make sure that he/she is the only one that can start a session. Often used at business locations and home locations where there is no reimbursement needed for certain users.
- I want to give a discounted rate to my employees when they charge at the office: Add the users that are tied to the account or when they use a private charge card within the same Provider, you can select ‘external account’
Instructions: create an access group
Administrative rights are mandatory to create access groups within the E-Flux platform. If you are a provider admin, ensure your account credentials grant you the necessary permissions. While end-customers are encouraged to manage these themselves, they must also have the appropriate access rights.
Whitelisting cards and blocking others
To restrict access to specific charging cards:
- Create an access group and add the visual numbers of all approved cards.
- Link the access group to a charge point.
- Disable roaming on the charge point. This ensures only the cards listed in the access group can initiate charging sessions. Note that adding external cards to access groups allows unrestricted "free" charging for these cards.
For provider admins
- Log in to your E-Flux dashboard.
- Navigate to My locations > Access groups.
- Click New Group and select the account for which you want to create the access group.
- Choose the type: RFID Tags or Users.
- Set the group's visibility (private or shared).
- Click Create to finalize setup.
- Add entries or members by inputting their RFID-UID or User details.

- Add members to the group: - For Users: Add individuals from your account and configure their tariff type.
- For RFID: Import RFID tokens or manually add by entering their UID or Visual ID. Learn more about importing members or finding the UID.

- Associate the group with specific charging stations: - Go to My locations and select the relevant location.
- Access Configuration, click the gear icon, and add the access group for each connected station.

FAQs and Tips
- Can I use a non-admin account to manage cards? No, administrative permissions are required.
- What happens if I don’t disable roaming? Cards outside the access group may still connect to the charging station.
