Configuration Requirements

  • Road Sim card, EVSE ID, configuration manual for the installer and registration manual for the owner of the charging station

  • Online manual ABL

  • Ethernetcable

  • Laptop with Ethernet connection

Follow the steps:

Step 1: When the charger is unscrewed, you have a 4G dongle on the left side inside the charging point (see image). This is attached to the USB connector by default. Disconnect it, remove the cap and insert the SIM card as shown in the figure.

Step 2: Connect the laptop to the charger via the Ethernet cable.

Here, it is important that you take the Ethernet port next to the 4G dongle.

Step 3: Open the browser on your laptop and enter the following IP address: http://169.254.1.1:8300/. This then puts you in the charging station's interface.

Step 4: When in the interface, click on connectivity and then cellular.

Step 5: Change the APN, you can leave the username and password blank. Then click save.

APN:

  • When using a white Road SIM card: m2m.services

  • When using a purple Road SIM card: road.io

Step 6: Go to the OCPP setting. Change the OCPP version to 1.6.

Step 7: At the Central system address (URL) field, enter the following:

  • When using a white Road SIM card or another connection method: ws://ocpp.road.io/<provider-slug>

  • When using a purple Road SIM card: ws://ocpp-internal.road.io/<provider-slug>

Step 8: You can leave the local port and local path fields blank. The basic authentication password can be left blank.

Step 9: Click save.

Step 10: Go to setting maintenance, then select hard reset.

The charging station is now connected to the Road platform!
