How to set a tariff for charging?

Tariffs adjustments in chargers

Written by Sjoerd Kortekaas

If you want to change the tariff for one of the chargers of your customer, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to “Accounts” and look up the right account

  2. Click on the account name and go to EVSE

  3. Click on the pencil and go to Energy Tariffs, here you can set a price per kWh, price per session or a price per hour.

  4. Click on “Update” Alternatively, for VvE/VmE accounts, navigate to "Mijn Locaties" and then "Medewerker locaties" to adjust the kWh price or other tariff settings.

Note: Always make sure that you Allow charging from other networks (roaming) and that the Billing&Access under Locations is right, so the reimbursement flow will work.

Which tarrif settings are possible within the charging station?

Charging stations can have 3 possible tariff types:

  • Price per kWh (max € 2,00 per kWh)

  • Price per session (max € 2,50 per session)

  • Price per hour (max € 2,00 per hour - tariff is charged per minute) Note: VAT is automatically calculated for tariffs. For example, a price of €0.16 excluding VAT will be displayed as €0.1899 including VAT.

There is a maximum tariff per kWh, session and hour to prevent EV-drivers from paying excessive amounts for their charging sessions.

Roles and Responsibilities in Tariff Management

  • VvE/VmE Administrators: Responsible for setting and adjusting tariffs, including configuring the tariff model (e.g., per kWh or time-based) and setting applicable rates.

  • Homeowners’ Associations: For residential association-managed stations, tariffs are updated in the E-Flux dashboard, with VAT automatically calculated.

Setting Personal Tariffs for Private Chargers

To set personal tariffs for private chargers:

  1. Create a new user-based access group in the E-Flux dashboard.

  2. Add your user account to this group.

  3. Assign the desired per-kWh tariff (e.g., €0.30/kWh) to the group.

Charging as a VvE Resident

If you are a resident of a VvE and the station is linked to the VvE account:

  • Use your E-Flux charging card/tag to start a session.

  • Charging sessions are automatically billed based on your resident registration with the VvE.

  • The station is visible only to the VvE account administrator, not individual residents.

  • You can view your charging costs in your E-Flux dashboard.
