Sometimes you may want to assign an existing charging station to a new person or employee. Here’s how to do it.

Two ways to re-register a charging station

There are two ways to bring a charging station back online and assign it to a new employee or user. Both methods allow you to reassign the charging station without deleting your account.

It’s not recommended to delete accounts because they’re linked to:

  • Reimbursement

  • Transactions and session history

This information is important for administration and is only retained while the account remains active. Therefore, it’s better to re-register the charging station instead of deleting the account.

Option 1: Create a new OCPP ID

  1. Go to the configuration of the charge point

  2. Change the OCPP ID

  3. The charging station will now appear in the system as a new object, just like a new charger.

Option 2: Reset charger and delete

If changing the OCPP ID isn’t possible, you can use this alternative method:

  1. Reset the charger

  2. Delete the chargepoint out of the system

  3. Once the charger comes back online, it will be registered as a new charger.
