Configuration Requirements

  • Road Sim card (optional), EVSE ID, configuration manual for the installer and registration manual for the owner of the charging station

  • Installation guide Technagon

  • Laptop with operating systems supported: Windows 11, macOS, Linux.

  • MicroUSB cable

Follow the steps

Step 1: Log in to the Web Interface using the following information:

Step 2: Navigate to the "Network" Settings: Under Network (WAN/Internet), ensure that the Auto (DHCP) option is selected to assign IP automatically, or configure a static IP address as needed or set "Never default" if you want the connection to prioritize cellular communication.

Step 3: Go to the ‘'Communication'' click on the ‘OCPP’' section. Select ''Operator’' as custom. Enter the following url:

  • When using a white Road SIM card or another connection method: ws://ocpp.road.io/<provider-slug>

  • When using a purple Road SIM card: ws://ocpp-internal.road.io/<provider-slug>

Step 4: Set the authorization key if required for connecting to the backend and ensure the protocol version is set to OCPP-J 1.6 json (this is non-editable).

Step 5: Verify that the Chargebox ID is correctly auto-generated from the device's serial number. Optionally, adjust the Chargebox ID (Template) to match how the charger should identify itself to the back office and then save the settings.

Step 6: Go to the Admin menu and restart the charger to apply the new configuration. Optionally, reboot the system for the settings to take full effect.

Note: When using a purple Road SIM card the APN name should be changed to: road.io. When using the white Road SIM card or another SIM card the APN name should be m2m.services.

The charging station is now connected to the Road platform!
