Road Manual: EATON Green Motion Duo

Configuration Requirements

  • Configuration package

    • Contains: Road Sim card (optional), EVSE ID, configuration manual for the installer and registration manual for the owner of the charging station

  • EATON Green Motion Duo Installation Manual

  • Configuration device: mobile phone

Follow the steps

Step 1: Enable WIFI on your phone and turn the EV charger OFF and ON. During the first 30 minutes after power-up or restart, the GM Duo Master creates a WIFI hot spot.

Step 2: Scan the QR code (or retype the SSID/Passphrase) and connect to the WIFI network which is provided by the GM Duo Master. The welcome commissioning screen should appear automatically in your browser.

Step 3: Press Next to start the commissioning process and accept the security warning by pressing Advanced and Proceed to unsafe IP address.

Step 4: Change the default password of the EV charger to continue.

Step 5: Navigate to the first screen of the commissioning wizard, select the internet connection method according to the local network configuration and configure the details of the selected method.

Step 6: On the Settings/OCPP server page press Edit OCPP Server button and enable the OCPP communication.

Step 7: Enter the following credentials:

  • CSMS (Backend): Custom

  • Protocol: OCPP 1.6j

  • Charge Point ID: enter the ChargeBoxSerialNumber’

  • Server Address:

    • When using a white Road SIM card or another connection method: ws://ocpp.road.io/{provider-slug}

    • When using a purple Road SIM card: ws://ocpp-internal.road.io/{provider-slug}

  • Security profile: 0

Step 8: Press the Save and Reconnect button.

The charging station is now connected to the Road platform!
