Road Manual: Valeo

Configuration Requirements
● EVSE ID, configuration manual for the installer and
registration manual for the owner of the charging station
● Valeo Ineez Password labels included in the box with the EV charging
station (figure 1)
● Configuration device: laptop

Follow the steps:

Step 1: Power the EV charging station following the video tutorial

Step 2: Activate the Hotspot : please wait until the end of the initialization phase, when the
is in a fixed green state. Now activate the Hotspot of the EV charging station by pressing 3 seconds on the touch button located under the LED (Figure 2).
After 3sec, lift your finger and wait for another 10 sec. When Wifi hotspot is open you have this sequence of the led


Please make sure to keep your finger pressed for 3 seconds only, beyond this timing the expected behavior of the charging station is to force the start of a charging session.

Step 3: Connect your laptop to the Hotspot on your Laptop check the available networks and connect to the Hotspot Valeo_XXXXX. Enter the Password 1 displayed on the label to connect to the Hotspot.

Step 4: Open the WebUi interface to access the settings Once your Laptop is successfully connected to the hotspot, open a new page in your browser to launch the WebUi interface by entering the following Url : http://10.0.0.1 Your browser may alert you that the connection is not secure and will ask you permission to continue to the site. Click continue to site

Step 5: Login to the WebUi interface.

Enter the standard user name: ineez_user

Key in the specific Password 2 displayed on the label.

At your first Login you will be asked to select a new password, it is recommended to apply a NEW password. Please keep it saved and well secured. You also have the option to use the same password Password 2 and to save.

Step 6: Activate OCPP:
In the Menu “Configuration” you may now activate the OCPP connection
In Config Type: protocol drop down menu, please select : OCPP

  • In the new dedicated field, please enter the Road OCPP server URL:

    • When using a white Road SIM card or another connection method: ws://ocpp.road.io/<provider-slug>/

    • When using a purple Road SIM card: ws://ocpp-internal.road.io/<provider-slug>/

      Note: Please make sure to add the “/” character at the end of the URL address.

  • Enter ChargePoint ID, then save.

  • A pop up window will appear, click on “Restart the services” to apply the changes

After applying the changes, the LED status will change from Green alternating with Yellow, to Red alternating with Yellow. The Red light indicates that the Charging station is not connected to the backend yet.

Step 7/1: Connect the charging station to the internet using “Wi-Fi Client”

Activate the Client Wi-Fi and select the Wi-Fi network you wish to connect to.

Fill in the password of the Wi-Fi network, save and restart the services.

Step 8/1: Once connected to the Wi-Fi you will lose your connection to the EV charging station via WebUi. Please reactivate the Hotspot following Step 2 explained above.

Once you reconnect to the Hotspot you will be notified when the changes have been applied and the EV charging station will be confirmed as successfully connected to the designated Client Wi-Fi. The installation is completed and the EV charging station should now be visible in the backend platform

Step 7/2: Using Road dedicated SIM Card In the setting, instead of activating the Client Wi-Fi, activate the LTE connection. You will be required to enter the following data:

APN Name :

  • When using a white Road SIM card or another connection method: m2m.services

  • When using a purple Road SIM card: road.io

You can leave the Username and password empty, since the network of our simcard is open.

Step 8/2: Save and Restart the services to apply the changes.
if the charger has a successful connection to the backend, the LED status will switch from Red to
Green.

The charging station is now connected to the Road platform!
