Configuration Requirements

  • Road Sim card, EVSE ID, configuration manual for the installer and registration manual for the owner of the charging station

  • Laptop

  • UTP cable

Follow the steps

Step 1: If the backend connection is to be made via a SIM card, now is a good time to insert it. Then connect the laptop to one of the Ethernet ports on the board in the charging station using a network cable.

In the Windows search bar, search view network connections and open.

Step 2: Right click the used Ethernet port and go to properties (admin rights required), double click internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)".

Step 3: Assign IP address in the address range 192.168.1.x. Everything except .100 is OK, because the charging station has this address. We recommend: 192.168.1.99. Also enter subnet mask 255.255.255.0. Then click on OK in both previously opened windows.

Step 4: Open a common browser and enter https://192.168.1.100/. ,If necessary, skip the security warning by clicking Advanced and Proceed to 1792.168.1.100 (unsafe).

Step 5: Select Log in in the menu on the left, enter password (initial password on DUCTO sticker), tick login as electrician (optional) and click on login. Confirm qualification (only if login as electrician was ticked).

Settings relating to the electrical connection conditions of the charging station may only be made by qualified electricians.

Step 6: If you are going to set up the charger with a SIM card you would need to set up the modem activate it, and set it up with the correct APN data such as: the access point name (APN):

  • When using a white Road SIM card or another connection method: m2m.services

  • When using a purple Road SIM card: road.io

You don’t have to fill in the username and password since the network of our SIM card is open.

You must activate the router function if other charging stations are to use the SIM card of this charging station. Please note that only one charging station in a subnet may take on the role of router at any one time. Otherwise there will be connection problems.

If the backend communication is to be established via the SIM card in another charging station, consider this other charging station as the gateway and ask us for the following manual: Prepare backend communication via LAN > Set IP address yourself.

Step 7: Set up the backend URL at integrate charging station into backend.

Put the operating mode to online and put in the charge box identity (you can use the serial number for this).

Fill in the backend url:

  • When using a white Road SIM card or another connection method: ws://ocpp.road.io/<provider-slug>

  • When using a purple Road SIM card: ws://ocpp-internal.road.io/<provider-slug>

Click on confirm at the bottom right, a window will appear asking: would you like to apply the changes? You can click another time on confirm.

After this, the charger will restart itself.

The charging station is now connected to the Road platform!
