What is the MSP Credit limits feature?
The MSP Credit Limits feature is a new mechanism designed to limit the impact of credit risk that can arise from issues like fraud, or simply to manage the credit exposure you extend to your customers. It allows you to implement a risk-based approach to how much your customer accounts can utilise.
Who is this feature for?
This feature is specifically designed for MSP providers like you, who want to manage and limit their credit exposure on their customer base.
Key benefits for your business
Implementing MSP Credit Limits offers several important advantages:
Reduce credit risk: Protects against the financial impact of fraud and reduces overall credit risk for both new and existing accounts.
Protect against costly collections: By preventing accounts from accumulating large, unpaid balances, you can avoid lengthy and expensive collections processes.
Improve operational efficiency: Streamlines your financial operations by reducing the number of accounts with large outstanding debts, freeing up valuable resources.
Enable a risk-based onboarding process: You can offer new customers a convenient post-payment option while mitigating risk by setting an appropriate credit limit, balancing user experience with financial security.
Support varied business models: The ability to set custom limits for each account type (e.g., consumer drivers vs. fleet managers) and currency makes it easier to manage credit across different customer segments.
Automatic block of charge card: Charge cards are automatically blocked if the limit is reached.
How it works: Credit tiers and customisation
This feature operates using a system of credit tiers. We have set 5 different tiers that you can allocate to your customers.
Tier 0 is a special tier used exclusively for blocking purposes, allowing you to completely restrict credit for a specific account.
New accounts created will have their trust level set to low by default.
For accounts that existed before the implementation of this feature, the trust level property is not set by default. You will need to use the bulk feature to assign a trust level to them on an account-by-account basis.
Once the limit is reached, the card will be blocked and the customer will receive an automatic e-mail. In the next release we will send this e-mail from 80% limit reached.
Limits by tier and currency
The following table illustrates example limits for different account types and currencies, demonstrating how tiers work.
Tier | Currency | 1 | 2 | 4 |
Individual | EUR | 250 | 500 | 2,000 |
| GBP | 220 | 440 | 1750 |
| DKK | 2400 | 4750 | 15000 |
| CHF | 240 | 475 | 1900 |
Organization | EUR | 3,750 | 7,500 | 30,000 |
| GBP | 3250 | 6500 | 26000 |
| DKK | 28000 | 56000 | 224000 |
| CHF | 3500 | 7000 | 28000 |
