Road Manual: ADS-TEC ChargePost

On this page you will find the steps to connect the ADS-TEC ChargePost charger to the Road platform.

Configuration Requirements

  • Road Sim card (optional), EVSE ID, configuration manual for the installer and registration manual for the owner of the charging station

  • Installation manual ChargePost

  • Configuration device: Windows laptop with preinstalled browser

  • LAN Cable

Follow the steps

Step 1: Use the Installation manual of the ChargePost to safely complete the installation of the charger.

Step 2: Configure the network settings of your laptop as follows:

  • IP address: 172.17.10.99

  • Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

Step 3: Use a LAN cable to connect the laptop to the service port on the PLC of the charger.

Step 4: Open your browser and enter the following IP address to gain access to the web interface of the charger: 172.17.10.100.8080

Note: contact the ADS-TEC support team if the web interface does not appear automatically.

Step 5: Use the login details from the product training to enter the Service HMI.

Step 6: Select the Network menu and select Routers to configure the APN settings of the U12 router.

Step 7: Select Set Credentials and fill in the following APN name to set up the connection with an Road sim card:

  • When using a white Road SIM card: m2m.services

  • When using a purple Road SIM card: road.io

Note: the pin, username and password are not required to setup a connection with an E-Flux by Road sim card.

Step 8: Select the OCPP menu and enter the following values:

  • OCPP: WS

  • Host name: ocpp.road.io

    • When using a white Road SIM card or another connection method: ocpp.road.io

    • When using a purple Road SIM card: ocpp-internal.road.io

  • Path: /<provider-slug> (please fill in your on provider slug)

  • Select port: 443

  • CPID / backend ID: ‘Enter the serial number of the charger’

  • Security Profile: 0

Note: the other OCPP settings can be left empty.

Step 9: Save the settings and reboot the charger.

The charging station is now connected to the E-Flux by Road platform!
