The CPO Usage Fee lets you earn extra revenue by adding a charge per kWh consumed at your charging stations. This fee is billed directly to the station owner, separate from split reimbursements. Below, you'll find a step-by-step guide on how to set up and manage this feature.

How to set up CPO usage fee on provider level?

  1. Enable platform feature on provider level. Go to platform modules and select "enable custom fees"

  2. Once enabled, you can create a billing plan for a charging station and define a custom fee. This custom fee is based on a per kWh rate and can either be:

    • A percentage of the total kWh tariff set on the charging station, or

    • A fixed value.

      • The provider has the option to configure the visibility of the billing plan. They can choose to:

        1. Make the billing plan available to all users during sign-up, or

        2. Assign the billing plan to specific accounts (refer to Step 3 for details).

  3. Once a billing plan is created, it can be assigned to a specific group of accounts. When an account with an assigned billing plan adds a new charging station, the associated billing plan will automatically be visible during the sign-up process.

To assign a billing plan to an account:

    1. Edit the target account.

    2. Add the relevant billing plans to that account.

The assigned billing plans will be available exclusively to that account during the charging station registration process. This means that any public billing plan will not be visible, unless it’s added as a proposed billing plan.

Note: As a provider admin or Road employee, you can also update billing plans for individual EVSEs through the standard process.

  4. In the finance overview (CPO), the provider would be able to get insight on the amount of usage fee that is charged per month.
